Brewery: Crazy Ed Chileen? I couldn’t really find a brewery name other than the brewer himself.
Brewery Location: Tecate, Mexico
Alcohol: 4.2%
This was another beer my coworkers gave me when I quit my last job. This was definitely one of the more unique and interesting beers I have had so far.
Yes, that’s an actual chili inside the beer. It’s not every day that you see that!
Sight: The first noticeable thing about this beer is that there is an entire chili floating in the beer itself.
Other than that, there was a bit of carbonation, but absolutely no head. More like a soda that briefly bubbles up, but rapidly recedes, even though it still continued to bubble quite a bit. The color was a hazy yellow.
Smell: It had a pretty neutral aroma to it. Maybe it was just the excessive amount of rain we were getting at the time, but it almost smelled like that aroma one gets before a rainstorm, although very mildly.
Taste: I have had chili beers before, but this was a little different. It didn’t have much taste to it, mostly being overpowered by the spiciness, although I still didn’t find it that spicy (I have a pretty high tolerance for spicy food). Simply put: I found that the mild flavor was completely masked by the spice from the pepper.
After finishing the beer, I popped the chili in my mouth and ate it. It was crunchier than I expected and a bit spicier than the rest of the beer, but still not all that hot.

Overall
The head was disappointing, but the pepper alone was a fun gimmick. In the end, though, it was an interesting beer with the chili and spiciness, but I have had much better chili beers before and now that this one is checked off the list, I don’t think I will be ordering it again.
