Columbia Camden Review

I needed some new boots a while back, and I saw these heavily discounted at a store while I was visiting a friend, so I figured I would try them out. In short, I am glad that they were so cheap (only 40€ from 100€) because they were not for me.

I liked the idea that one could have them all the way up or you could fold them over so they only came up to your ankles if you wished. Unfortunately, there is a button for the top half to clip onto when you fold it down, and that button was right on the ankle. When I sit, I often like to tuck one ankle under the other thigh, and that button would then push down on my ankle, making it very uncomfortable.

The button wasn’t the only issue I had. The fabric itself wasn’t a problem, but the way it folded at the toe when I knelt had it making an angle and digging into the joint of my big toe. Lastly, the shoe just wasn’t the right dimension for my foot. My feet are a little on the wider side, and these were just somehow too narrow. I constantly felt pressure around the area right before my toes, which actually got quite excruciating.

I tried to wear them over a few days, but it was just agony every time. I will no longer be wearing these, and I hope to pass them on to someone else whose feet are more accommodating to the form.

Pros:

Cheap

Decently casual looking, as far as boots go

Cons:

Fabric folded uncomfortably at the toes

Buttons on the ankle were annoying

Not friendly to wide feet

Summary

You get what you pay for, and these cheaper boots definitely were not good for my feet. I could only bear wearing them for a few days before deciding to get some other more proper and comfortable boots. I am glad that I didn’t invest too much money in buying these.
