Brewery: Cerveceria Mexicana
Brewery Location: Tecate, Mexico
Alcohol: 4.8%
This is another of the beers that my coworkers gave me when I quit. This one was nice—a mild american pale ale from mexico. Funny. This actually made quite the mess when I opened it as it started foaming excessively. I hadn’t shaken it up recently, in fact, I actually had it sitting in front of me for about 10 minutes while I topped off another beer until I opened it. I don’t know if that was a fluke or not, but I am glad that I opened it on my desk and not over a carpet.
I thought it was interesting that the neck label said “Cerveza de los muertos” and “Biere de la mort” which both translate to “Beer of the dead,” but the English label read “Queen of the damned.” I don’t know if this is just part of a series or something, but I found the discrepancy odd.
Sight: A pretty thick head that slowly died down on top of an amberish, orangeish, opaque beer. Not many bubbles.
Smell: This smelled malty, but also fruity. Almost sweet, but still strong all the way through.
Taste: Not really a smooth bitterness, but more of a poignant one. Otherwise, it wasn’t that remarkable. Somehow, thick tasting, but nothing too strong. Not terrible, but nothing more than a bittery taste on the back of the tongue.

Overall
An alright beer. It looked and smelled nice, but the taste was somehow lacking. The artwork is good, but good artwork doesn’t make a beer taste better. I would drink it again I suppose, but only if offered it—otherwise I fear I might aim for something else.
