Brewery: Brauhaus Riegele
Brewery Location: Augsburg, Germany
Alcohol: 9%
A friend of mine bought this for me for my birthday.
Sight: I saw that this was a 9% beer, and I expected it to be dark. I was quite surprised to see how clear it was. This beer had a golden-blonde color and was relatively clear. A light head adorned the top, and it had very few, fine bubbles.
Smell: This beer also didn’t smell as I would have expected it to. This simply smelled much milder than a 9% beer would. It had a mild nutty and malty smell to it, but nothing too strong that would have made me think it to be so strong. That being said, it was a pleasant aroma.
Taste: This is where it packs a punch! You could feel the alcohol with this one. At almost 10% alcohol, you could feel it warming you up. Otherwise, it was pretty smooth, and I could taste a subtle nuttiness. It had a very pleasant bitterness to it, which lent itself to being too drinkable at its alcohol amount.

Overall
This was a surprisingly smooth beer for how strong it was. A respectable bitterness with a mild nuttiness—it hit me harder than I expected. After only one beer, I was definitely feeling it. I would definitely drink this again, although I would need to be sure that I don’t have anything planned the next day.
