Leinenkugel’s Creamy Dark Review

Brewery: Leinenkugel’s

Brewery Location: Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin

Alcohol: 4.9%

Fat Tire has been my favorite American beer for a long time, but this is now a strong contender. While I was in the USA a couple years ago, I tried this, and I was blown away.

Sight: A very dark brew that couldn’t be seen through. Smooth foam coated the top and stuck around for quite a while.

Smell: My only complain was that it didn’t smell that enticing. I actually was getting an odd, soapy smell, but that could have been the glass. I unfortunately only had one of them and didn’t think to try another glass.

Taste: A very solid, full-bodied taste. It not only had a strong punch to it, but it left a nice bitter aftertaste on the back of the tongue.

Overall

Extremely great—now a contender for my favorite beer. I’ll need to do a taste test between Fat Tire and the Creamy Dark next time I am in the USA. It’s a thicker beer, so it’s nothing I would drink on a hot day, but it’s great on a cold fall or winter day to warm you up.
