So Begins my World Trip

The entire 5+ years I have been living in Germany, I have been living within my means and saving money. After half a decade, I figured it was time to travel. For a long time.

I was taking some online classes last year, which I finished. The landlord for our place is selling the apartment, and it wasn’t clear how things would be in the future. Additionally, I was royally annoyed with the foreigners’ office since I had 4, FOUR!, different visas last year alone because they kept messing things up.

It was time for something else.

It is time for a world trip.

I have quit my job and am going to take my saving and travel around the world. If things work out, I hope to be able to travel for about one and a half years. I have already visited a lot of places, although it doesn’t look like that much on a map, haha.

I will start in Kenya and then wander around Africa for a while. While I don’t have any strict itinerary, the general list of places, roughly in order, that I want to visit are as follows: Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Russia (at beginning of May, since that’s when I have a visa), Mongolia, China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand (hopefully Christmas 2019), Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, USA, and then Canada.

It’s not every place in the world, but I figure that I need to keep some destinations for the future.

Slightly shameless plug: A friend of mine surprised me by starting a GoFundMe for me. If you want to donate for the cause, I would be eternally thankful. In any case, you have to check out the hilariously epic video my friend made!

I have been posting some other random articles and reviews lately, but I am not going to be posting as much anymore on this site. I want to focus on my fiction writing, but I will still post on this blog regarding my world trip. I imagine a post for every couple of countries or so.

Be sure to check back from time to time for updates! You can also follow me on social media or subscribe to my newsletter in the links to the right.

We’ll see how my scratch-off map looks when I finish.
